Kyivstar, Ukraine's largest telecommunications operator, has seen a surge in revenue and traffic as the war with Russia continues. The company has been working around the clock to keep its network running and provide essential services to Ukrainians.
In the third quarter of 2021, Kyivstar's total revenue increased by 119% year-over-year to UAH 87 billion (US$3.3 billion). The company's net income also increased by 140% to UAH 26 billion (US$980 million).
The increase in revenue was driven by a surge in traffic on Kyivstar's network. The company has seen a 50% increase in voice traffic and a 25% increase in data traffic since the start of the war.
Kyivstar has been working around the clock to keep its network running and provide essential services to Ukrainians. The company has deployed additional equipment to areas where the fighting is heaviest and has been working with other operators to ensure that Ukrainians can stay connected.
Kyivstar's efforts have been praised by the Ukrainian government and the international community. The company has been recognized for its commitment to keeping Ukrainians connected and for its role in supporting the country's war effort.
